A Year Ago - Moving Away

1 year, 365 days since we left Idaho and moved our family to California. It doesn’t seem like it has been that long since we said goodbye to everyone and the life we had built in Idaho. When this job opportunity came up we had to decide if we should take the leap or stick with what we know. For my husband’s career we decided to take the leap. There were so many things that drew us toward yes. The weather and ocean to name a few.

All packed into the car it was hard to leave everyone behind. Yet we knew this opportunity to experience a new place and his new job were worth the chance. We have learned a lot about ourselves in this past year. WE are not apartment people (that was SO hard) we love the sunshine but not the rain so much, I’d prefer snow. But most of all we have learned that we can do anything as long as we are together. We miss our friends and family dearly but we know that we are in the right place for right now. We have seen some fun new places and enjoyed the beach so very much. We have spent a great deal of time in the sand.

First family trip to the beach! January 25th, 2018

I look forward to seeing what 2019 brings as we go onto our second year here. We are going to take advantage of being close to so many things with some more time spent at Disneyland, SeaWorld, hockey games and of course more time at the beach. Our hope is to see some things we haven’t seen yet too. Drop me a comment if you’ve got some cool things we should check out.

I plan on taking some trips both for work and for fun. So be watching for those dates and locations. I will also be focusing on adoption portraits again. As you may know we adopted our gorgeous blondies so that is something that is close to my heart. I also want to spend some time connecting and learning your stories of adoption, infertility and the journey to your family.

Life brings unexpected things your way and I feel fortunate to have embraced the changes to make way for the journey ahead.
